Please come write on our walls! What would you like to say about Gage’s ideas on religious freedom? Engage in a respectful dialogue about how we interpret this important theme in Gage’s life.
Comments from October 10, 2010 are from our Grand Opening Weekend when visitors wrote on our actual walls.

I recently wrote a note to your ED, Dr. Sally, regarding a nonprofit that I work for that currently advocates for the freedom of religious expression within the US military. While many of us in the social justice world–I’ve been an activist, fundraiser and executive director for 25 years–don’t appreciate the military, I’ve come to see that this institution is about to change–and change dramatically. And today it is critically important that it be confronted about its willingness to be under the control of Dominionist, extremist, right-wing Christian crazies who want to keep control of this part of America, in no small part because of its ability to keep women in secondary statuses. I hope all people who love what Gage stood for then will do so today too as the Defense of Marriage Act, Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell and other idiocies fall. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation is doing its part and doing with attention to how women are being treated, and we’d love to see as much positive noise as possible keep this progress moving forward. The language on your Religious Freedom page is spot-on with what is happening and with what needs to happen today in the armed forces and elsewhere! Thanks every woman who continues to fight for what is really right.
My best,
Allan
I may not agree with you but I will defend your right to believe what you will

Did Matilda learn about the importance of separating church and state from her early participation in the Baptist church? The principle of separation was initiated by Baptists and incorporated in the US Bill of Rights.
I respect your beliefs. Kindly let me believe my beliefs
I believe in god.
I do not believe in a religion founded on so called Revelation. When I was born, I became a Revelation to myself

It is amazing to me that Elizabeth Cady Stanton has been “baptized” as a Christian feminist interpeter of the Bible and Gage has been all but forgotten. History is indeed still being told by the victors, but thank Goddess for this site and all your work!
