Award Ceremony
Sunday, October 4th from 12-4pm
Bellevue Country Club
Join the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation in honoring the legacy of our founding director, Dr. Sally Roesch Wagner with the Matilda Effect Award. We will also take this occasion to recognize our dedicated volunteers.
The afternoon will be full of delicious food, memories of Dr. Wagner, a performance by Harmonic Collective, as well as a live auction and of course we will be drawing the winner of the beautiful bespoke quilt created by Matilda Effect Artist, Rachel Ivy Clarke. This work is entitled Floral States of Women.
Floral States of Women Quilt Raffle
This bespoke quilt can be yours! Artist Rachel Ivy Clarke describes this as a block-of-the-month program from Cotton Cuts featuring patchwork blocks made with fabrics creating each of the 50 state flowers. But upon completing the blocks she struggled on how best to arrange them. Alphabetically? Chronologically? She said nothing seemed right until she learned about the index from Georgetown University for Women, Peace, and Security ranking the states in order from best to worst for women. Suddenly, everything clicked!
The piece was finished in 2026 and measures 60" x 72" Retail price of $1850.00
Tickets are $1/each, $10 for 12, and $20 for 25.
Drawing will take place at the Gage Foundation Awards Dinner on October 3rd.
Winner need not be present to win.
